Vegan MOFO Day #16: Did Somebody Say Cheese Danish?

Patricia can make a mean cheese danish. Fear not, it's not that hard to do, all you need is some crescent roll dough-(accidentally vegan! check the label.), vegan cream cheese, and strawberry jam. That's it. I personally make my own cream cheese because I don't have the money to buy the store bought stuff. To make your own cream cheese, simply rig a mason jar with a coffee filter and fill with unsweetened plain soy yogurt:
You let it set overnight and in the morning you have cream cheese.

First you take your crescent roll dough and you lay it out like this.
Then you put some vegan cream cheese and strawberry jam in the middle.
Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes and you get this! 1 tube will give you 4 large and pretty danishes. If you're entertaining a large herd, you might want to make plenty because they'll get devoured in a hurry.

I can not wait to make this! And the tip about vegan cream cheese blew my mind.

Now, the consistency won't be quite like cream cheese, but it is close and worth the effort, since a tub of tofutti is like $3.
