ooops!

actually it wasn't an oops. it was a slip. i couldn't help myself. actually, i could have but i didn't.

i took some non-vegan candy from my spouse's candy bowl AND ATE IT! specifically 2 reese's cups and a snack sized butterfinger. i'm so embarassed. it wasn't worth it.

does this mean i have to turn in my card?

Haven't had a vean slip, BUT I will confess something if you promise you will still speak to me: I am very lax when it comes to two things-- honey and foods that "may contain traces of milk". The way I see it, veganism is about showing compassion to animals, not about being hyper-obsessively worried about every tiny smidge of an animal product.

So don't beat yourself up; instead, look at all the amazing things you DO do for the animals and remind yourself that one little slip every now and then won't mean anything in the grand scheme of things :o) :o).

P.S. I reeeeaally wish I could've seen your Sarah Palin costume lol!

I totally agree with this. We do the best we can. If something happens, we're still doing the best we can. And we're definitely doing better than almost anyone else.

Of course I'm not a vegan, but you know what I mean.

Candy has been the hardest thing for me to give up (I thought it would have been cheese). I know there's vegan chocolate, but I admit I prefer the mass market cheapo stuff!

I agree with Mari - we are doing way better than almost anyone else!

Of course you don't have to turn in your card! We all slip up....I used to be really bad about "accidentally-on-purpose" eating cheese dip when I was drunk. It hasn't happened in awhile, but I'm gonna say it won't ever happen again. I do get drunk a lot...but that's another habit.

Oops! I mean to say "I'm NOT gonna say it won't happen again."

I hope you don't feel too badly! I almost ate some cheese the other day - I didn't, but the temptation was there. I would also find Reese's cups incredibly tempting - probably more so than cheese. Nobody's perfect. :-)
