Vegan MOFO Day #4: Tasty Scabs

Where's Carl? Well, I can tell you he's not in the house, duh. He's doing typical country boy stuff out in the woods: catching bullfrogs, playing in the mud, and taunting a zombie. After he was done skipping stones with his new ZBFF, he came across an old farmhouse that had a fully stocked pantry and came up with a snack recipe that he affectionately calls "scab crackers" because they look like, well--scabs.

These go really well with raw hummus or mashed avocado.

 Carl's Scab Crackers
You'll need
  • an oven or dehydrator
  • 2 c. flax seed meal
  • 3 c. pureed tomatoes
  • 1T bragg's liquid aminos

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside. Mix flax meal with the pureed tomatoes and braggs, then smear it on the parchment paper, being careful to make the layer even. I baked mine in an oven at 150 degrees for about 6-7 hours. For a crispier cracker, you'll want to bake this longer.

  2. Jen, I LOVE YOUR ZOMBIE HEART :-)

We just watched the first season of Walking Dead recently. My librarian recommended it, actually haha. We LOVED IT.

My 4yo loved it. Don't tell anyone that I let him watch it.

    XOXO!
