product review: wholly guacamole!

this shit is the bomb. i know, i know--pre-made guac is the epitome of laziness, BUT i'm entitled to be a little lazy every now and then, and you should be too! this stuff is vegan-(i like the pico de gallo flavor best, but i couldn't find a pic). no hidden weird ingredients, just avocados and some spices. you snip open a corner and squeeze it on your favorite food item. simple.

price? i'd never pay full price for this, but mr. jewbacca is the coupon king and we earned $1 off plus got it on sale at kroger and ended up paying 99 centados, nada mas. que ganga!* (*that's yer spanish lesson for "what a bargain!")

verdict? straight up two turntables and a microphone. wholly guacamole company, you'd better send me a care package, damnit.

  2. I've never had a good pre-made. But, I might have to try this based on rave review :)

  3. I agree, this is pretty decent for a pre-made. I like my guac more chunky though! Mr. Pixiepine would prolly protest Wholly! anyway, because they make that Dallas Cowboys flavor, and boy does he hate that team. :P

  4. For premade guac, this really is good stuff. When the avocados are rock hard and I *need* guac, this is the one we get, too.

  6. Yum! I actually really like the taste of pre-made guac. It tastes a little different to me and its usually creamier. I'll have to try this. I like the 100-calorie part.

  7. i love this stuff. i was getting sweet deals on avocados (like 40-50 cents each) for awhile, but now they're back up at $1+/ea, so i've been buying this. i normally get it for about $1 as well with a coupon, or i get it at BJ's warehouse in bulk. it's so yummy.

  8. It's ridiculous that we have to make sure guac is vegan. I've seen guacamole with gelatin in it before. Also some with mayo. Flippin gross! Thanks for the review, Jen.

  10. I admit I love this pre-made guac too. I always seem to find coupons for it, and I've found it pretty cheap. And it freezes well. Can't go wrong!

  11. this would be so much better without so much onion and garlic. over powering

  12. I usually make homemade but needed a quick go to for a party. I bought the avocado Verde in the small tub. When I first opened it I thought it really looked runny. After stirring it I tried it-NEVER AGAIN! We like onion but it was all you could taste-Overpowering and burning with no other flavor! I had several people try it and all agreed, we ended up throwing all of it in the trash. Very disappointing.

    1. Yep! I got fooled by the Avocado Verde tub. It's actually an avocado salsa! I've always bought Wholly Guacamole in the pouches - that's stuff is great and is the real deal. But I wanted a larger, resealable container. This tub of lies was right next to the pouches... Totally fucked my night up!
